Real Time with Bill MaherOct 24, 2026
Multiple sources report that Hilton has visited all 58 California counties, including an LA Times report that states it as fact. The claim matches the speaker's own statement in the post, but most sources only repeat Hilton's own account, so confidence is capped.
A guest makes this claim. Listeners heard it, so it counts against the post, and on the guest's own record.
What was said
… So I think, um, I think I know, I think I know a little bit more about the people of California than Andy does, because I've been traveling this state. I've been traveling this state for years. I've been in every one of our 58 counties. We've done hundreds of events, thousands of people coming out with their real problems. They're at breaking point financially. …

Supports. The LA Times campaign profile says Hilton has logged thousands of miles 'visiting all 58 counties' in his run for governor.[1][2]
Supports. Hilton stated in a September KRCR interview that he has visited all 58 California counties, and in a CBS 8 interview that he has been to every one of them.[3][4]
Supports. Hilton's own X post says 'That makes 58 out of 58 counties visited in this campaign,' and a KQED episode has him saying he has been to every county in the last year and a half.[5][6]
Context. Most sources repeat Hilton's own account of his travels, and no independent source (such as a county-by-county travel record) confirms the visits, so the evidence rests largely on the claimant.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
Context. The claim matches the passage in the post, where the speaker says 'I've been in every one of our 58 counties,' so the extraction adds nothing beyond the post.
