The sources support that DHS ran a large review of state voter rolls to find noncitizen voters before the midterms, as of 2026-10-03. They do not document DHS actually removing anyone from the rolls, so calling it a 'purge' is a contested characterization used by critics rather than a reported removal.

This claim is in the show notes, the publisher's own words. It counts against the post, once.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

What we found

Contradicts. None of the sources reports DHS itself removing or deleting names from voter rolls. The reported activity is review, matching, and investigation, with removals left to states under proposed legislation that the sources describe as not yet enacted.[1][2][4]

Supports. Reuters reported on 2026-09-24 that DHS obtained at least 47 state voter rolls and surged hundreds of officers to comb them for evidence of voter fraud under its Unlawful Voter Initiative.[1]

Supports. CBS and PBS report DHS agents knocking on doors and a federal judge restricting DHS election-related investigations in nine states, confirming the operation was active before and around the claim date.[4][5][6]

Context. Critics describe the effort as a purge: an AP-reported lawsuit alleges DHS databases could purge legal voters, and Truthout calls it an attempt to remove ('purge') putative ineligible voters. These are advocacy characterizations, not documented removals.[3][7]
