The roughly 20,000 fake driver's licenses were really seized at Chicago O'Hare in 2020, but authoritative fact-checkers examined that seizure and found no evidence it was tied to voter fraud or a Chinese election influence campaign.

A guest makes this claim. Listeners heard it, so it counts against the post, and on the guest's own record.

What was said

… that just floors me, is that when you see this massive intelligence cover up, and you combine it with the Chinese influence operation, that was beyond my wildest imagination as to what was going on. And we'll have to talk about that in our one-hour show, But the Chinese Communist government was, was operating. They were running a massive election influence campaign, in addition to the examples of election interference, such as this intelligence report, which was trying to explain the 20,000 fake driver's license that came in from China. You know, that type of thing. You had the, and we talked about the voter roll manipulation, or the, uh, unauthorized this is why, this is why, this is why people in Georgia, this is why people Georgia showed up and they said, "I need to vote," and they go, …

What we found

Contradicts. PolitiFact, AP, FactCheck.org and Snopes all found no evidence that the seized licenses were linked to voter fraud or to any Chinese government election influence scheme; FactCheck.org called the voter-fraud link baseless and said federal authorities announced no connection.[1][2][3][4]

Contradicts. A 2026 Brennan Center review, citing a March 2026 Center for Democracy and Technology report, says there is no evidence of interference in the 2020 federal elections, while noting that China's election influence was limited in scope.[5]

Supports. CBP officers seized 19,888 counterfeit driver's licenses, mostly from China and Hong Kong, at O'Hare between January and June 2020, so the 20,000 figure is accurate.[2][3][4]

Context. In 2025 the FBI turned over documents, released by Sen. Grassley, alleging that China produced fake licenses to help Chinese sympathizers vote for Biden. These claims come from a single confidential source and have not been independently verified.[6][7]

Context. The Baltimore Post-Examiner's 2026 article repeats the claim of a massive Chinese interference campaign using 20,000 licenses, but it is a low-credibility outlet that adds no independent evidence.[8]
