The claim adds 'facilitate gender transition,' which the passage never says; the post only says schools can take a child out of school and 'do whatever,' so the claim departs from the passage and cannot be graded as the poster's statement.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

What we found

Contradicts. PolitiFact found that the 2023 Minnesota law (HF 146) gives courts temporary jurisdiction in custody cases and does not authorize the government to take custody of children whose parents do not consent to gender-affirming care.[1]

Context. The passage says schools 'can take your child out of school and do whatever the hell they want' with no mention of gender transition, so the extracted claim adds a specific subject the post never names.

Context. The Minnesota Department of Health minor-consent compendium states that there are no restrictions on access to gender-affirming care for minors in Minnesota law, which addresses medical care rather than school action.[2]

Context. Upper Midwest Law Center alleges some Minnesota districts socially transition students without parental notice or consent, but this is an advocacy group's allegation about name and pronoun changes, not an authoritative finding of legal permission.[5]

Context. HF3533 (published 2026-10-31, after the post) and SF 5247 (introduced 2026-04-30) are legislative proposals, not enacted law, and none of the sources shows a law permitting schools to facilitate gender transition without consent as of 2026-10-15.[3][4]
