The 98% figure matches a CNN analysis by Harry Enten reporting 98% approval among MAGA Republicans in September, but it is a different subgroup and an earlier date than the claim's October 15 framing.

A detail. The sources confirm the gist; the verdict faults a detail such as a date, number or wording.

What we found

Contradicts. ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos found 79% approval among Republicans in an October poll, down from 88% early in the second term, well below 98%.[1]

Contradicts. Alternet reports ABC/Post/Ipsos at 83%, Fox News at 76%, and Marquette Law School at 75% approval among Republicans, and calls the 99% boast a claim about a poll that does not exist.[2]

Supports. Mediaite and The Independent report that CNN's Harry Enten found Trump had a 98% approval rating among MAGA Republicans in September, which is the likely source of the claimed figure.[2][3]

Context. Mediaite notes the share of Republicans identifying as MAGA has been slipping in some surveys (UMass fell from 77% to 68% in August), so a MAGA-only figure is not the same population as all Republicans.[3]
